BIGKID Foundation

BIGKID Foundation is a youth and community charity based in South London. Their mission is to end youth violence. Through community engagement, mentoring and leadership programmes, they equip young people to find, develop and act on their own potential.

Flag football has been core to their community engagement programme since first piloting it in 2018. The sport has had huge impact, with increasing numbers of young people playing every week. As often a new sport for most, if not all, it is highly inclusive, with all genders, age groups, fitness and ability levels able to get involved and play together. Thanks to support from the NFL Foundation and GLA, they are currently focussed in increasing female engagement in the sport, delivering multiple weekly sessions in schools and communities across London, alongside regular opportunities for young people to test their skills and abilities in tournaments and combine events.
